The Chino y Chicano podcast launched in 2022 with co-hosts Matt Chan, “The Chino,” and Enrique Cerna, “The Chicano.” Both spent their careers in television. Chan created the cable series "Hoarders," while Cerna worked as a Seattle broadcast journalist for 43 years. After Chan died on March 30, 2024, following a battle with kidney cancer, Cerna committed to continuing the podcast in his honor.
In 2025, Fred Rivera left a top job with the Seattle Mariners to found the Rivera Group, a sports business advisory firm. In this episode, the former Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Mariners shares how his early days as a high school and college baseball player shaped the mindset that carried him through law school, into top law firms, and ultimately into professional sports. Now CEO of the Rivera Group, Rivera is focused on creating opportunities in sports design and giving back to the Latino community he's proud to represent.
