The Chino y Chicano podcast launched in 2022 with co-hosts Matt Chan, “The Chino,” and Enrique Cerna, “The Chicano.” Both spent their careers in television. Chan created the cable series "Hoarders," while Cerna worked as a Seattle broadcast journalist for 43 years. After Chan died on March 30, 2024, following a battle with kidney cancer, Cerna committed to continuing the podcast in his honor.
Stacey Fitzpatrick’s husband left for work in West Seattle, but he never came home. On Chino y Chicano, Fitzpatrick tells Enrique Cerna how her husband, Eduardo Aguirre, was arrested by ICE and quickly transferred to an out-of-state detention center. She opens up about the fight to bring him home and explains why she believes his case is a warning about immigration enforcement, due process, and the state of American democracy.
