February 19th marks the 80th anniversary of Executive Order 9066 which forced 120,000 people of Japanese descent - many of them American citizens - to incarceration camps during World War II. For one man, his entire life has been connected to this indignity. His mother was nine months pregnant, with him, when she was ordered to leave home. Community photographer Eugene Tagawa now makes an annual pilgrimage to the Minidoka incarceration camp, in the desert of southern Idaho, to honor those who endured years of hardship and the loss of liberty. He shares his experience with co-hosts Enrique Cerna and Matt Chan on their podcast, Chino y Chicano.
