Eric Liu is founder of Citizen University and executive director of the Aspen Institute Program on Citizenship and American Identity. He was a speechwriter and deputy domestic-policy adviser for President Bill Clinton. He is the author of A Chinaman's Chance, and co-author of The Gardens of Democracy and The True Patriot. In the premiere episode of Citizen University TV, host Eric Liu offers up a lesson on the sources of civic power and shares real-life stories of citizen action, including a conversation with Estevan Muñoz-Howard, one of the leaders of the "democracy vouchers" Honest Elections Seattle initiative approved by Seattle voters last fall.
