Long before automobiles drove us around, the Mosquito Fleet transported people, produce, and even livestock up and down Puget Sound. The fleet once comprised dozens of ships, but now the Virginia V is the only wooden steamer from that era still in operation. And as she prepares to turn 100, the steamship is undergoing a major renovation! Work on the vessel is being done at a storied shipyard with a sign collection that celebrates Ballard's past.
