Mayor Wilson announced actions outlined in Executive Order 2026‑4 that address housing production and housing affordability. The order aims to spur affordable and market rate housing production by streamlining permitting and launching a Housing Production Task Force to advise her housing agenda. The task force will bring together communities most impacted by City policy to craft recommendations to build needed housing, support affordable and community‑based developers, prevent displacement, and attract development to Seattle.
The order also establishes an interdepartmental team across utilities and housing agencies to expedite timelines and permitting. This order is the next step toward ensuring everyone has a home they can afford.
