"Beyond Mysticism: The Modern Northwest," now on view at the Seattle Art Museum, is a beautifully curated exhibition of paintings and sculpture by artists known as the Northwest Mystics. These painters and sculptors, some famous but many not, were part of the Northwest School, a mid-20th-century American art movement that was mainly centered in Seattle and the Skagit Valley.
