MRW Alliance hosts a public forum in Seattle Oct. 22 on hatchery proposals that could help save the dwindling orca population on Puget Sound. The panel discussion highlights proposals for expanded hatchery production to ensure an adequate supply of fish for the native orca population, as well as for commercial and sport fishing, tribal interests and other stakeholder groups. Topics to be discussed include the possibility of bringing proven Alaska-style hatchery management techniques to Washington state.
