The November episode of Civic Cocktail is sure to shake things up with an unlikely pairing of two Seattle powerhouses -- Police Chief Kathleen O'Toole and celebrated director Lynn Shelton. The two-part program will feature one-on-one interviews with each of the women and host Joni Balter.
Several months into the job, O'Toole will discuss steps she is taking to earn community trust in the police department, address crime and respond to the consent decree reached between the city and the Department of Justice. During the second segment, Shelton will talk about why she chooses to make movies in Seattle, her hometown, including her latest release, Laggies, starring Kiera Knightly.
Plus, we'll hear how Seattle can continue to support and develop its growing film industry. Joining the discussion is a panel of journalists: City Arts Magazine's Leah Baltus, KIRO Radio's Brandi Kruse and KUOW's Marcie Sillman.
Civic Cocktail - presented by Seattle Channel, Seattle CityClub and Crosscut - offers an evening of networking, civic conversation, Tom Douglas appetizers and a no-host bar.
