Community Stories: Festál Turns 20
Community Stories: Festál Turns 20
1/16/201719:02

In 2017, Seattle Center's Festál will celebrate 20 years of global music, dance, art, crafts, history, food and insight presented through a series of 24 cultural celebrations exploring the region's many ethnic cultures, including the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, Seattle's French Fest, the Spirit of Africa, Arab Festival, First Nations Heritage Festival, Seattle Fiestas Patrias and more. The entertaining and illuminating series is a partnership between Seattle Center and the many volunteers and community groups who produce the celebrations, which showcase the uniqueness and common threads of the culturally rich communities who shape the Pacific Northwest. "Festál Turns 20" looks back at the beginnings of the Festál program; its growth; and the role of participants, organizers and attendees in fostering fellowship.
