King County program works to reduce inequities in voting access

It's a defining principle of democracy - the right to vote. Unfortunately, in many underserved communities of Seattle and King County, that right is not being exercised. But the effort to turn out the vote is getting substantial help. King County and the nonprofit Seattle Foundation have put $1 million into the Voter Education Fund and it's helping dozens of programs. Last year alone, one grant recipient contacted nearly 85,000 residents across King County and registered more than 7,000 people to vote. Brian Callanan has more on those benefiting from this special fund.
