CityStream: Seattle Kraken Embrace and Support Equity
4/6/20216:34

When the Kraken take to the ice in October as Seattle's newest pro sports team, it will be with a wide base of support. The National Hockey League (NHL) team is actively building relationships with diverse groups like the Black Girl Hockey Club. The nonprofit is working with the Kraken to change hockey's image from that of an all-white sport to one that embraces diversity. The team is also working with Sno-King Amateur Hockey to get low-income families and kids of color interested in the game. And the team itself is committed to inclusion. As Brian Callanan reports, the Kraken's staff is believed to be the most diverse in the NHL.
