Councilmember Kshama Sawant hosts a public forum to support REI Employees for Real Change - workers who are fighting for a living wage, fair scheduling, and the right to unionize. Included on the agenda are Nicole Grant, a representative from the Martin Luther King Jr. County Labor Council, and Joe Earleywine, Organizing Director, UFCW Local 21, the state's largest private-sector union, with over 44,000 members in retail, health care, and other jobs.
