State lawmakers are considering a bill (House Bill 2948) that would allow King County to tax big businesses to help fund affordable housing and homeless services. The business community supports a regional solution like this, but only if the bill bans ("preempts") cities from charging another similar tax. With less than 2 weeks left in the session, will lawmakers be able to broker a deal?
