Mayor Wilson announces Seattle Preschool Program Expansion

On Monday, Mayor Katie B. Wilson, City leaders, and early learning officials visited a local preschool classroom to officially kick off enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year of the award-winning Seattle Preschool Program (SPP). Enrollment opens March 16 for 2,600 SPP seats across Seattle. As part of the City’s Every Child Ready Initiative and the 2025 Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise Levy, DEEL is adding 100 new seats for the upcoming academic school year. SPP is free for most families, with sliding scale tuition rates for high-income households. Dual-language and inclusion classrooms are available at participating sites citywide. Learn more here.
