Beacon Hill Elementary School annually celebrates the Lunar New Year, but every other year they celebrate the Latino community.  In spring of 2009, they celebrated El Dia del Niño, the Day of the Child.  One of the highlights of the celebration was a special waltz performance by kindergartners.  Alfredo Osma Villanueva, a teacher's assistant at the school, proposed that he teach the kids to waltz.  Originally from Havana, Cuba, Villanueva is also a salsa instructor who learned how to dance when he was eight years old.
