The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce hosts University of Washington President Ana Mari Cauce during the organization's 142nd annual meeting. Rising from assistant professor to president, Ana Mari is the first woman, first Latina, and first openly LGBTQIA+ person to lead the institution. President Cauce’s inspiring, courageous leadership is displayed throughout her historic tenure at the UW, which has included expanding student access by creating the Husky Promise; advancing research and patient care through UW Medicine; and launching the University’s Population Health Initiative, part of a comprehensive strategy to create and accelerate impact for the public good through learning, discovery and community engagement.
