CityStream: Powwows form a connection to culture & community
8/30/20228:13
The pandemic forced a two-year cancellation of the Indian Days Seafair Powwow. But the popular event returned this summer, and so did the crowds! For Native Americans, powwows are important community gatherings that allow people to reconnect with Indigenous culture and revitalize the spirit. Plus, all the singing and dancing have great significance. Producer Ian Devier shows us some common powwow traditions.
