From its start in Seattle's Little Saigon neighborhood, and running south to Renton, Rainier Avenue is filled with landmarks and icons from a different era. It bordered a major league ballpark that's now a home improvement store. Also, a fireworks factory once created pyrotechnics a stone's throw from the busy roadway. And a popular streetcar transported thousands of commuters along the route more than a century ago. Feliks Banel has a glimpse of the past and future of Rainier Avenue in this installment of his "Road Scholar" series.
