Best-selling author Debra Dean discusses her new biography, "Hidden Tapestry: Jan Yoors, His Two Wives, and the War That Made Them One," with host and author Nancy Pearl. "Hidden Tapestry" reveals the unforgettable story of Flemish American artist Yoors -- childhood vagabond, wartime Resistance fighter, and polyamorous New York bohemian. Dean describes her fascination with the artist and his two wives, reflects on the shift to writing non-fiction and recounts how she delved into Yoors' colorful life and detailed his astonishing secrets. Her celebrated debut novel, "The Madonnas of Leningrad," was a New York Times Editors' Choice novel. A Seattle native, Dean lives in Miami and teaches creative writing at Florida International University.
