U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) holds a town hall at the University of Washington where she discusses her work in Congress and takes questions from members of the community in attendance. This town hall occurs at a significant time for the U.S. House of Representatives, which is currently considering legislation to protect Dreamers and Temporary Protected Status (TPS)/Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) recipients and continuing investigations into President Trump's ongoing obstruction of justice. Recently, the House passed the Equality Act -- landmark civil rights legislation to ban discrimination against LGBTQ people -- as well as two sensible gun reform bills to expand background checks and close the Charleston loophole.
