Community Stories: Rainier Beach: A Beautiful Safe Place for Youth
11/6/20178:19

In the summer of 2017, participants in the Seattle Youth Employment Program got behind the camera to document a special initiative happening in the Rainier Beach neighborhood. Participants chronicled the work of Rainier Beach: A Beautiful Safe Place for Youth (ABSPY), a community-lead approach to reduce crime that affects young people in the South Seattle neighborhood. With the goal of building a neighborhood where youth can grow and thrive, the initiative and its youth participants are putting ground-breaking innovation into action to "Be safe. Be respectful. And be responsible."
