Seattle's historic Yesler Terrace neighborhood has seen plenty of change. Once the first racially integrated public-housing project in the country, it's now undergoing a complete facelift. The acres of aging low-rise apartments are morphing into a mixed-income community with mid-rises and retail development. Longtime residents fear the neighborhood will lose its culture and character. The city hopes to ease the transition with an engaging tool: art. Nils Cowan shows us the newly operational Yesler Arts Mobile Studio (YAMS) and examines how artwork and community are coming together in the face of change.
