With nearly 30 percent of the force eligible for retirement, the Seattle Police Department is on a push to increase diversity. And it's working. Since 2014, SPD has nearly doubled the number of new hires who are people of color. Community outreach and recruiting are key. One of those waiting in the wings - a Garfield High School student of Somali descent. He can't wait to wear the badge! He says he wants to be the "change" that bridges the gap between his community and the police department. Linda Byron has the story.
