Thi Bui discussses "The Best We Could Do," a graphic novel documenting her family's daring escape after the fall of South Vietnam in the 1970s and the difficulties they faced building new lives in America. This event also features a staged reading from the book, adapted by Susan Lieu and directed by Kathy Hsieh, in partnership with Book-It Repertory Theatre. "The Best We Could Do" is the 2019 Seattle Public Library "Seattle Reads" selection.
