Environment - Public Comment - Tree Protection Ordinance 12/15/2008 Invitation to the Public to comment on the Interim Tree Protection Ordinance, CB 116404. The Seattle City Council Environment, Emergency Management and Utilities Committee will hold a public meeting to take comments on Council Bill 116404, concerning proposed interim controls to Seattle Municipal Code Section 25.11, the city’s Tree Protection ordinance. If adopted, Council Bill 116404 would amend Sections 25.11.020, 25.11.030, 25.11.040, and
25.11.100 of the Seattle Municipal Code. This council bill would provide interim controls including
changes to existing exemptions to the tree ordinance, further restrict tree removal or topping of trees
on lots of 5,000 square feet or more in single family zones. |

Public Comment: Styrofoam Ban and Disposable Bag Fee 7/8/2008 The Seattle City Council Environment, Emergency Management and Utilities Committee will hear comments from the public on a proposal to ban certain uses of expanded polystyrene (EPS) and impose a 20 cent fee on disposable shopping bags at Seattle’s convenience, drug, and grocery stores.
