Council Press Conference: Pedestrian Safety Initiative 11/13/2007 The Council held a press conference about their proposed Strategic Pedestrian Safety Initiative for the 2008 City Budget at the northeast corner of Delridge Way SW and SW Myrtle Street in Southwest Seattle. The package has been developed as part of the Councils year-long focus on Pedestrian Safety and combines infrastructure improvements, education, technological innovation, and law enforcement to help make Seattle the most pedestrian friendly city in the country. The location, on the pedestrian route that schoolchildren and parents take to nearby Sanislo School, illustrates the Councils proposed investments to make arterials, school zones, and stairwells safer for pedestrians. |
