The Seattle Channel and Northwest Film Forum have partnered to present the best in local short filmmaking, with unique films from around the region. Seattle is a film city, and now the city has a place where local films can be seen on regular basis.  More information about this show

The SEATTLE CHANNEL presents a special broadcast of winning films from the 2007 edition of the Seattle Times' annual Three-Minute Masterpiece digital filmmaking contest--featuring comedy, drama, live-action and animation. The Seattle Times, Seattle Film Institute and Seattle International Film Festival asked readers to submit homemade DVDs of anything suitable for a family audience running three minutes or less. The winners were selected from among more than 100 entries.

REEL SHORT MOVIES is a mix of original works by local area filmmakers. In association with the Seattle International Film Festival and in celebration of the 2007 festival, this episode of REEL SHORT MOVIES presents the 2004 Fly Filmmaking Challenge films. The Seattle International Film Festival's Fly Filmmaking Challenge asks a selected group of local filmmakers to create a short film on the fly. They shoot in five days, edit in five days, and produce the films under a specific set of rules. The 2004 Fly Film Challenge asked ten filmmakers to create documentaries of Seattle neighborhoods assigned to them at random. This year also includes a Fly Film made in honor of SIFF's 30th Anniversary.

In association with the Seattle International Film Festival and in celebration of the 2007 festival, this episode of REEL SHORT MOVIES presents the 2005 Fly Filmmaking Challenge films. The Seattle International Film Festival's Fly Filmmaking Challenge asks a selected group of local filmmakers to create a short film "on the fly". They shoot in five days, edit in five days, and produce the films under a specific set of rules. The 2005 Film Filmmaking Challenge asked ten filmmakers to create five minute long Seattle themed documentaries based on a word that they drew out of a hat.
