In her new role as Director of the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, Vu brings her life experience as a refugee who knows the stigma of food stamps and the prestige of an Ivy League school, as well as 12 years of experience working on immigrant and refugee affairs as an advocate, issue organizer and non-profit founder and executive.

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray kicked off the first in a series of `Find it, Fix it` Community Walks on Wednesday July 2nd at 23rd and James. On this walk, other city and community leaders, along with residents, joined Murray to walk and point out physical disorders and discussed how best to solve them. The primary focus was on graffiti removal, street lighting issues, litter and garbage clean-up and more.
