(SEATTLE) The SEATTLE CHANNEL's monthly magazine show CityStream premieres a new episode this Thursday, March 15 at 7:00 pm on cable channel 21 in the city and streaming everywhere else at www.seattlechannel.org. CityStream, with host Marcie Sillman, presents a new 30-minute episode each month, with unique points of view on local issues and culture.
In this month's episode, the first wave of baby boomers is heading for retirement and the City of Seattle is taking a hard look at how it can support this fast growing population--CityStream contributor Jeff Gentes has the story. With 9/11 and on-going wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, many Americans are leery about Islamic extremists and terrorism. But how much do we really know about Islam and Muslims? Islamic expert John Esposito says “not enough.” He talks with Marcie Sillman about the world’s fastest growing religion. Then, get ready to kick up your heels and swing your partner as CityStream visits the Seattle Center’s weekly Monday night social dance.
CityStream is a monthly presentation of the SEATTLE CHANNEL, the cable station that helps people connect with life in the city. The SEATTLE CHANNEL presents a variety of arts, cultural, civic, community and government programs 24 hours a day on cable channel 21. The SEATTLE CHANNEL website (www.seattlechannel.org) features additional information about the city, streaming video of the live cable signal, and a complete "video-on-demand" archive of current and past programs.
