Resource Fair for Seniors Coming Up at Queen Anne Community Center Seattle Parks and Recreation's Senior Adult Programs will present a Senior Adult Resource Fair at Queen Anne Community Center, 1909 1st Ave. W, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, January 26. This free resource fair will feature exhibits from local businesses, service agencies, and local government programs that demonstrate innovative products and services available in the Seattle area, and will help senior community members navigate the mass of information available. The intent of the fair is to acquaint people with the broad array of programs and support services-including housing, transportation, health care, recreation, and more-that help senior adults to age in place successfully and enjoy a comfortable, fulfilling quality of life. This event will encourage seniors, recent retirees, and baby boomers to think actively about their future long-term housing, care, recreational, and other needs, and provide them with ideas and information, Attendees can enjoy a free, healthy, homemade lunch at the Fair, provided by the Queen Anne Monday Meals Program. Co-sponsors of the event are Merrill Gardens, a retirement community with facilities at Northgate, Queen Anne, Admiral Heights, and West Seattle; the Greater Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce; Reverse Mortgage of America; Theraputic Associates Physical Therapy; Bayview Retirement Community; and Wellness One of Seattle. Metro Bus service is available to Queen Anne Community Center on Routes 3, 4, and 13; get off the bus at Howe St. and walk one block west.
