Shoreline outages restored overnight

SEATTLE — Two power outages in the north Seattle and Shoreline areas were restored overnight, and everyone was back online by 4 Wednesday morning.

More than 4,000 customers were affected by the two outages. Most had their power returned after midnight, and the remaining customers were back up by 4 am.

The cause of the first outage was determined to be wires down from equipment failures on utility poles. The second outage is still under investigation.

Information about outages is available online from Seattle City Light’s system status map at www.seattle.gov/light/sysstat.

Seattle City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
