Urban Planning as Settler Colonialism
3/30/20181:11:35

Professor Coll Thrush discusses Seattle's urban history within the larger context of settler colonialism. His presentation shows ways in which previous generations marginalized Duwamish and other Indigenous presences through urban design and planning and ideas about "progress." Professor Coll Thrush is the author of the book Native Seattle: Histories from the Crossing-Over Place and a Professor of History at the University of British Columbia.
