Last year, 332 people in King County died from overdosing, mostly from opioids like heroin and prescription drugs. Is creating a safe injection site where those struggling with a substance abuse disorder can use illegal drugs under medical supervision the right solution? Do these sites save lives or create a public-safety problem? Seattle plans to open the country's first safe injection site next year, but opponents are pushing back with a major legal challenge.
