Eric Liu focuses on a strategy of power that changes the story. He calls it "Describe the Alternative." First, he says be provocative. Ask what- if questions that stretch or even reverse the narrative. Next, Liu says describe a better way. He cites the Swiss idea of a universal basic income, which would've provided a guaranteed minimum to every citizen. It failed at the polls but sparked a national debate. Finally, Liu says create a new normal. Those who support openly carrying firearms in public are doing just that by staging protests and appearances where they carry guns in public places.
