Lorena González is the first Latina/o elected to the Seattle City Council. One of two at-large (citywide) council members, González was raised in a migrant farmworker family, became a civil rights attorney and activist and then legal counsel to Mayor Ed Murray before being elected to the City Council last fall. She joins host Josephine Cheng at El Centro de la Raza to discuss how her background influenced her commitment to workers' rights, equity and affordability issues and to weigh in on city policies related to "secure scheduling," homelessness and more.
