In recent decades, the historically black neighborhood has experienced rapid demographic, economic and cultural changes, including a decline in the black population. Capitol Hill Housing, Centerstone and the Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas host a conversation about the issues facing the Central District. Denise Scott, a community-revitalization expert presents ideas for preserving culture and equity in changing communities. Scott is executive vice president of programs for Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the largest community development support organization in the country.
