Partnership helps break the ice for many immigrant youth
CityStream: Ice Experience: ReWA Partners with the Kraken

For many immigrants and refugees, adapting to life in a new land can be unsettling and lonely. This is where the Refugee Women's Alliance, or ReWA, lends a hand. Each day, its three regional learning centers welcome 225 students. The teachers speak languages ranging from Spanish to Amharic to English. Now, ReWA is teaming up with the Seattle Kraken to give kids an exciting and fun opportunity. Weekly ice-skating lessons are a way to make new residents feel connected to their community. And as Brian Callanan reports, it may also produce a future hockey star!
