Seattle Mayor Jenny A. Durkan, alongside South Park community advocates, signs her legislation, authorizing the Seattle Office of Housing to acquire two parcels of land in South Park for the purpose of affordable housing development. This proposed land acquisition is in direct response to community-stated goals, and advances ongoing City-wide efforts to support environmental justice and equitable development in the Duwamish Valley. The future development will include family-sized affordable rental housing, utilize Community Preference to benefit those most impacted by displacement, and offer community-oriented space supporting a shared vision for the broader South Park neighborhood.

Speakers include:
Mayor Jenny A. Durkan, City of Seattle
Emily Alvarado, Director of Seattle Office of Housing
Paulina López, Executive Director of Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition
Robin Schwartz, member of the Duwamish Valley Affordable Housing Coalition
