Host Nancy Guppy grew up in Seattle and, with the exception of a three-year stint in Los Angeles, has lived in the city her entire life. Before creating arts programming for the Seattle Channel, Nancy spent 10 years as a writer/performer/producer on KING TV's late night comedy show, Almost Live!. Nancy enjoys morning coffee, daily walks, dinner with friends, hang time with husband Joe, and hitting the local art scene as much as she possibly can.
Art Zone goes on safari to Fred Wildlife Refuge, a versatile art venue on the west side of Capitol Hill, where owner Chris Snell leads a tour of the creative sanctuary. Then we go behind the scenes with dancer and choreographer Dylan Ward as he prepares for his duet with partner Jim Kent in Dogged. Host Nancy Guppy sits down with visual artist Ann Hamilton before her six-month museum-wide exhibition, the common SENSE, exits the Henry. Artist Jed Dunkerly demystifies Canoe Social Club, a hideout for artists, and nineties garage-band sweethearts The Statics reunite for a special Art Zone performance.
