In this special episode of Art Zone, spend an evening with award-winning drummer, composer and producer Barrett Martin and his band live at the Nectar Lounge. The epic two-part set opens with members of the Barrett Martin Group, an all-star line-up of some of the Seattle-area's top jazz and rock players (Evan Flory-Barnes, Andy Coe, Ryan Burns, Dave Carter, Hans Teuber and Thione Diop), in a fluid performance of heavy grooves from their various albums.  In the second half of the set, vocalist Jeff Angell drops in for some Walking Papers hits with a big-band feel. The Sept. 22 show kicked off the Barrett Martin Group's West Coast tour in celebration of the release of Martin's new memoir and soundtrack "The Singing Earth," which explores his musical travels around the world.
