Seattle is renowned for its natural beauty and greenery, something missing within many urban areas of the country. Our decades-old trees provide myriad benefits, including cleaner air, cleaner water, lower asthma rates, climate change resilience, and the list goes on. Unfortunately, the city’s tree canopy is shrinking. The City of Seattle is working to reverse that backsliding by investing in urban forestry care and management. But it’s a complicated quest since preservation efforts often collide with developer’s demands. Producers Michael Crowe and Pete Cassam explain.
