Georgetown fights air pollution with a 'green wall'
CityStream: Georgetown's Green Wall
11/17/20165:26

A community effort to combat air pollution, has taken root in the Georgetown neighborhood. The Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition and the group Just Health Action, with funding from King County, the EPA, and assistance from CDL Recycling and many volunteers, has built Seattle's first "green wall," a free-standing structure seeded with plants that will help filter out pollutants in the air. It's a small step in a larger effort to improve the neighborhood's air quality, which is possibly the worst in the city.
