arrow CURRENT PET OF THE WEEK

MartyCityStream Pet of the Week: Marty
Golden-eyed Marty is a handsome boy who enjoys head rubs and being held. At 6 years old, Marty is curious as a kitten, and he loves to explore his surroundings.

Friendly, sweet, and calm, he likes attention most of the time, although a little break now and then suits him well.

Marty would be a great fit for a moderately active family with some cat experience, with older kids and perhaps another cat.

arrow FEATURED PETS: ADOPT ME!

QueenieCityStream Pet of the Week: Elliot
It is a pleasure to meet you. The name`s Elliot. I am a cross-eyed Siamese cat, which was once a very common trait in my breed. My blue eyes and Seal Point coloring are quite pretty, but the real reason why you should choose me is my sweet and gentle nature.

I`m a little shy when first meeting a new person, but once you start petting me, I`m putty in your hands. I purr instantaneously and loudly as soon and as long as the petting extravaganza continues. Do you have a Furminator? I really enjoy being groomed.

QueenieCityStream Pet of the Week: Lulu
Lulu is as sweet as sweet can be. If you're into relaxing walks and rousing games of fetch followed by quality cuddling and couch-time, she may be the girl for you.

According to people who know her, she's cooperative, confident and eager-to-please. Plus, she already know commands such as "sit" and is quite easy to handle. She'll do best with an experienced guardian in a semi-active home. She prefers the company of humans and is good with kids six and older.

QueenieCityStream Pet of the Week: Queenie
Queenie would be an ideal companion for the first time dog owner. She's a sweet senior who is happy to go-with-the-flow. She doesn't mind a lot of activity around her, though she won't demand much more than a leisurely walk and lots of cuddling. Queenie is quite laid back and very easy to handle. She is gentle and tolerant and all-around good natured. Come meet this darling girl and make her queen for a day and your queen for a lifetime.

PowCityStream Pet of the Week: Pow
Are you a chill kind of person? Do you have a lap in need of warming? Then you`ll love Pow, a super-mellow love-bug.

This soft, handsome and friendly fella looks like an adorable anime creature come to life, and he would make a wonderful companion for a first-time cat owner.

TobyCityStream Pet of the Week: Toby
Toby is calm, friendly, and very affectionate. His foster home said he`s was one of the nicest cats they had ever cared for.

A true lap cat that loves human attention and purrs the instant he`s touched. His foster family had a calm, friendly male cat that he enjoyed hanging out with. He likes using his scratching post, or cardboard scratching box, as well as a covered litter box.

ArchieCityStream Pet of the Week: Archie
Archie is a smooth dude. He has an Elvis-like smile and swagger, and just like The King, he is a hunk-a-hunk-a-burnin' love. Archie would be the perfect pet for a first time dog owner. He is so friendly, and relaxed and gentle. He loves to be held and is very easy to handle. Archie is a gentleman on the leash, and even rides well in the car. His little tail is always wagging.

Come meet this happy guy and you'll soon be singing, "I Cant Help Falling In Love With You."

TommyCityStream Pet of the Week: Tommy
Tommy is mellow and affectionate and awfully friendly. He loves to be petted and have his head scratched. He even likes to be groomed. He loves people (not so much dogs or other cats, so he`s hoping to find a home where he`s the one and only animal companion).

Jack and OscarCityStream Pet of the Week: Jack & Oscar
Jack (white/black) and Oscar (white/agouti) are a wonderful pair of English Spot rabbits. Born in the fall of 2011, they were found in a local park when they were just eight days old! Jack and Oscar were brought to Seattle Animal Shelter where they were immediately placed in foster care. Jack and Oscar are sisters and must be adopted together.

LilacCityStream Pet of the Week: Gucci
Gucci is just one year old - and has plenty of energy! She`s beautiful, with a silky, soft and shiny coat. She`s looking for a very dog experienced home with as much go-up-and-go as she has.

She'd like to share her new home with teenagers and adult humans and be your only pet for now...

LilacCityStream Pet of the Week: Lilac
Lilac is kind of shy and rather sensitive so please be patient. She's truly a sweetheart and a gentle soul. She's fairly calm and relaxed and just moderately active. She'll really thrive and blossom in a home with some activity to one that's zen calm. An adult-only home with plenty of prior dog experience is best right now - children might be too stressful.

She's good with some other dogs with proper introductions. While she's pretty well behaved, she'd like to take some training classes with her new humans to show you how smart she is.

She's beautiful! She's a lovely shade of blue with plenty of white, and her coat is extremely soft. Top that off with golden brown eyes full of hope and longing, and you've got Lilac!

SlimCityStream Pet of the Week: Watson
Stately Watson is a handsome devil of a brown tabby who's looking for his (human) match. An older gentleman who has always lived indoors, Watson welcomes a measure of gentle affection but can also keep himself entertained.

He is seeking a position as the solo pet in a calm, adults-only household. Independent and dignified, Watson is actually quite approachable and friendly. Come meet dapper fellow today, and find out if you were made for each other.

SlimCityStream Pet of the Week: Slim
Slim is a feisty full-figured lady who isn't afraid to speak her mind (which sometimes sounds more like a little bark than a meow!). Unfortunately she ended up at the shelter because her previous owner is moving. She gets rave reviews from her former owner who calls her friendly and gregarious with a big personality.

Slim's favorite toys are crinkly things, peacock feathers and cat nip. She's a pretty tortie with green eyes and unique orange flares above her eyes. She has lived with other cats and sometimes chases them, and would be happiest in a home with some cat experience. Come meet the lovely Slim today!

Alice and JaneCityStream Pet of the Week:
Alice and Jane

Meet Alice and Jane. Their previous owners moved to Florida and could not take them along. They are a lovely bonded pair of lady rabbits looking for a forever home with people who have some prior rabbit experience.

MannyCityStream Pet of the Week: Manny
Manny is a big bundle of love. He's super happy and very laid back. Manny loves to run and play (did someone say fetch?). He favors his back leg, but it doesn't slow him down one bit, and he has a great attitude. He likes leisurely walks and is a perfect gentleman on the leash, and he knows how to sit, too.

Max CityStream Pet of the Week: Max
Max loves nothing better than to nestle in the crook of your arm and get lots of head scratches. A lovely and independent little lady who prefers the company of friendly dogs but not so much her fellow felines, Max would do best in a calm, adults-only household with some cat experience. Described as a "real sweetie pie" by those who have gotten to know her, this playful and active gal has a tendency to get over-stimulated, but she calms down. If the crook of your arm is feeling a wee bit empty, maybe it's time for you to meet Max. Stop by and say hi!

arrow FEATURED PETS: ADOPTED!

Edna and Bunbun -- ADOPTED!
Edna and Bun BunEdna and Bun Bun are a great pair of rabbits, about 4 years old. They are a little shy of all the activity at the shelter, but enjoy time with volunteers. As a bonded pair, they must be adopted together. Bun Bun is the gray and white boy, a dwarf mix. Edna is the handsome lady in the agouti coat. Edna had a broken leg, which has healed a little awkwardly. She gets around fairly well and Bun Bun encourages her to be active. They would like a quiet home where they can become part of your family. Come meet Edna and Bun Bun today at the Seattle Animal Shelter.

MaryMary -- ADOPTED!
Mary is a gorgeous 1-year-old girl with a cocoa/gray coat and soulful brown eyes. She's olympic athlete strong, curious and gentle. She would love a life full of fetching, hiking, jogging and playing. But, on the flipside she'd also make a great couch companion as she seems to love human interaction and affection.

DavidDavid -- ADOPTED!
Meet David: with his medium length soft fur, he loves getting his neck scratches and pets, but on his own terms. He is quiet and independent. As a senior cat, he is looking for a quiet home with no kids that will allow him to peacefully lay in the sun to soak up the rays.

KeyaraKeyara -- ADOPTED!
Keyara is a friendly, affectionate lap cat in search of her forever home. She is sweet, mellow and regal. Keyara enjoys good conversation and is happy to give you her opinion as she snuggles up next to you for a scratch behind the ears.

She is an independent lady with a mischievous streak, so someone with a bit of cat experience would absolutely adore her. She is a big, wonderful girl who loves basking in the sun and can't wait to curl up on her very own window sill and tell you how much she enjoys the view.

DixieDixie -- ADOPTED!
Dixie is a good looking three year old who found herself stray, and was brought to the shelter to find a better life. This sweet girl is super athletic, playful, and energetic, and needs a family who can keep up with her. A wonderful mix of Shepard and American Bulldog, she has some typical American Bulldog traits - she's more aloof and independent, and doesn't like to be overwhelmed by humans or other dogs. She'll need some patience, and time to bond with a new guardian who will work to gain her trust. Training classes will be a wonderful way to help this process along (she's already housetrained!).

JohnnieJohnnie -- ADOPTED!
Johnnie is an affectionate, handsome young fellow who loves a good head rub. This 3-year-old has gorgeous blue eyes and a mellow demeanor, and he's quite well-rounded, too - he enjoys both playing AND warming up the couch! Johnnie likes being groomed and hanging out with his people, and enjoys attention most of the time. He'd be a great fit for a first-time cat family of teens and adults.

Bella -- ADOPTED!Bella
Bella is a 4-year old who loves to purr and roll over on her back. She has a beautiful gray coat with flecks of caramel and a sweet round face. She's a curious huntress, and really loves to play with her plastic lizard. She likes people but sometimes needs her personal space, and prefers head pats over back pats. She has strinking lime-green eyes rimmed in brown.

Summer -- ADOPTED! Summer
Summer is as relaxed and mellow as a soft breeze. She is quiet and calm and very affectionate. She loves to have her head rubbed and likes to be petted. Summer is looking for a peaceful home to relax and settle in. Shed be happy to be your only pet (and what more could you want than this sweet, green-eyed gal?). There wont be a cloud in the sky if you bring Summer home.

Beanie

Beanie -- ADOPTED!
She`s a big, beautiful, black lab named Beanie. She`s gentle, tolerant, cooperative and confident - and a sweetheart too. She was given up through no fault of her own, and hopes to find her forever family this time. She has some tricks up her sleeve - `sit`, `down`, and `shake`, and is ready to learn more.

Tum Tum Tum Tum -- ADOPTED!
His name is Tum Tum and he is just about five months old. He loves other cats and is being a very good "big brother" to his cage mate who is a much younger and smaller kitten who we paired up with him. He has a very calm demeanor for such a young cat and is very happy to be held and cuddled. He is quiet and gentle and will make a great lap cat. He will fit into just about any home as long as there is plenty of snuggle time for him! His case number at the shelter is 10132.

YonderYonder -- ADOPTED!
Meet this week’s Pet of the Week: Yonder. She’s a delightful three-legged cat, but don`t be worried. After 7 years with only 3 legs, she gets around to snuggle on your lap or to beg for your affection. At 9 years old, this girl has figured out the finer things in life – a chin rub, a favorite scratching post and a nap in the sunshine. She likes calm, mellow dogs, but hopes to be your one and only feline friend.

BrandyBrandy -- ADOPTED!
I'm a charming one year old pittie known as Brandy. My most endearing feature is my underbite - I think it give me lots of character. I really love people, but I'm a bit shy and sensitive - so it may take me a few moments to warm up to you. I sure like it when a volunteer sits in my kennel with me and keeps me company - it will be even better when I can hang out with a family of my own. I can't get enough petting!

SnakeySnakey -- ADOPTED!
Snakey the corn snake is a friendly guy. He likes to play in his water bath and curl around things in his terrarium. He was surrendered to Seattle Animal Shelter when his former family moved. Well socialized and friendly, Snakey is used to being handled by adults and kids.

Corn Snakes, also called Rat Snakes are a native North American species. Their docile nature, variety of colors, and easy care requirements make them popular pets. Adult snakes can range from 3 to 6 feet long and can live to be 20 years old. Adult snakes require an enclosure of at least a 20 gallon tank. A 30 gallon or 55 gallon tank would be preferred. The enclosure should be lined with an appropriate substrate, provide places to climb and hide and provide adequate heating. Corn snakes eat mice, generally once a week, which can be purchased frozen from pet stores and thawed/warmed to room temperature before feeding.

Coco -- ADOPTED!
Coco has the best smile! Her chocolatey coat is gorgeous and her personality lights up the room. This one year old weighs about 50 pounds, and enjoyed rolling in the soft spring grass during her photoshoot. While she hasn`t had much training in her past, she`ll now `sit` at the sight of a treat in your hand (hoping that treat is meant for her!). She is young and rambunctious, and has lots to learn about how to be a stellar canine citizen - so please be prepared to attend training classes with her and have patience as she learns. (She`s very food motivated!)

King George -- ADOPTED!
You have to agree, I do look like royalty! I'm very handsome and distinguished with a lush, thickcoat and piercing golden eyes. I'm ten years old, friendly, affectionate and confident - and I like attention most of the time. Because I'm King George, I want to be king of my castle - so I need to be your only pet please. I have an interesting, chirp-like meow - it's not very regal, but it's sure cute. My ideal home will have some prior cat experience, be moderately active, - and I'm best with older kids as I sometimes play a bit rough. Do you have a windowsill or soft cushion I can use for my throne? I'm ready to begin my reign! This wonderful cat qualifies for the Seniors for Seniors program.

Biggy -- ADOPTED!
Biggy is a big boy with a big big heart too. He loves people and really, really wants to make them happy. He's big on playing, too. He loves to chase the ball, and just about anything else you want to throw. He's got lots of energy and would be happy to go for long walks with you, or how about hiking or jogging. He's big on cuddling, too. He'd be a great companion all around. If you want to train him, he can learn a lot more tricks -- he knows sit, shake and down. He's happy and exuberant, strong but gentle, and very tolerant.

GidgetGidget -- ADOPTED!
Gidget is a spirited, gorgeous two year old with a twinkle in her eye, and a constantly wagging tail (see that blur behind her in her photo?). She came to the shelter when her people had to move out of the country due to a family emergency. She's a fun, active and fairly athletic dog who will thrive in a very experienced home with plenty of time for training and exercising her. At about 50 pounds, she's a strong gal with a muscular, stocky build.

Gidget recently went for a long walk at a big city park where she got to meet lots of new people (she loved it!). She rode well in a crate in the car there and back. She knows 'sit' and 'shake', and being very food oriented will be a snap to teach more. This tolerant and confident girl is good with some other dogs, but does need a cat-free home. She'd do well with children at least six years old. Gidget is a sweetheart - she deserves all the best!

VelvetVelvet -- ADOPTED!
Velvet is a true sweetheart!! She makes friends with you immediately and her tail is always wagging. At three years old, she`s athletic and energetic, and is eager to please her humans. This confident girl hasn`t had much training in her past, and will really benefit from going to classes with her new family (a smart pup like her will catch on quickly). She has mastered `sit` though and will gladly offer the behavior for a treat. Velvet is a gorgeous dog with four white socks, white on the tip of her tail, a cute pink snout, and piercing golden brown eyes.

Pluto the Black LabPluto the Black Lab Mix -- ADOPTED!
I'm Pluto. I love to be with my people! I'm smart and happy (but not Goofy) and I like to play and cuddle. I'm smart too, and know 'sit' and 'down' - can't wait for you to teach me more. I don't like being alone much, so it would be great to find someone who's home a lot (or maybe works at home) - we could hang together all day. But I'm trying to be more independent, and you can help me. Meantime, we can get to know each other, maybe sit on the couch and snuggle and watch cartoons - I have a few I can recommend! Be sure to check out my cool video - I'm a star!

EmmaEmma-- ADOPTED!
Hi! Emma is a gorgeous, mellow senior lady in search of a calm retirement home. She is a special needs girl looking for some TLC as her vision is not what it once was, and she could use a bit of dental work. Despite these little signs of normal aging, Emma is in excellent health, and is a sweet, loving cat. She enjoys attention most of the time and is the ultimate lap cat. She is friendly, gentle and relaxed. She loves having her lush, thick coat brushed and groomed and is a very sweet girl. Come meet Zen-Kitty Emma. You'll be glad you did.

SophieSophie -- ADOPTED!
Mature, dignified female seeks calm and loving partner. I want to be your one and only - so yes, let's be exclusive. Several of my admirers have told me that I have the most gorgeous blue eyes they have ever seen, and that my friendly, outgoing personality makes me a joy to be around. I pride myself on my impeccable grooming habits and think I'm quite a looker, if I do say so myself. In a previous life, I was declawed, so I am an indoor only lady, thank you very much. I am well mannered and a good conversationalist. I'm social, enjoy soft music, good food, relaxing times together, and an occasional bit of cat nip. Are you the right partner for me?

GabriellaVelvet -- ADOPTED!
Gabriella is a gorgeous, fluffy eight year old with huge, golden moon eyes. She's sweet and easy-going, but has a playful, active side as well. If you've got a sunny windowsill, or the sun is shining on the couch - this cat is there, she's a real sun worshipper! She loves playing with balls, and the flashlight. In order to keep looking her best, she'll need regular grooming - but no problem! She enjoys it. Gabriella has lived with children in the past, and she loves the companionship of other cats, so she'd make a great pal for your current cat - or why not adopt a friend for her too? Since she's been declawed, she'll need an indoor-only home to keep her safe. Gabriella can't wait to start her new life!

Katie the Domestic Short-HairKatie the Domestic Short-Hair -- ADOPTED!
Katie is a sweet, sociable girl who would love to be your one-and-only pet. Gentle, curious, and affectionate, this pretty kitty seems much younger than her 10 years. She's quite independent but loves to warm laps and be groomed. Katie is looking for a calm, quiet home - could it be yours?

Bonnie the Domestic MixBonnie the Domestic Mix -- ADOPTED!
Beautiful Bonnie is ten years old, and has the cutest black nose and absolutely gorgeous markings. Her pictures don't do her justice! She's friendly, affectionate, confident and gentle - and likes attention most of the time. She'll thrive in a cat experienced home that's quiet, calm and mature. This sweet natured lap kitty loves chin scratches and enjoys being groomed. Bonnie was a stray, so she's looking forward to a real forever family this time. She'd do fine with kids at least 13 years old, and while she'd prefer to be your only pet, she might tolerate another cat. Come meet her at the shelter and see for yourself what a treasure she is!

Roxy the RottweilerRoxy the Rottweiler -- ADOPTED!
Roxy is a large, loving adult Rottweiler who's everything a Rottweiler should be. She's just a big lap dog who loves to cuddle with her people. She'll enjoy leisurely walks with her new family, snuggling on the couch and hanging out, being her big loving self. She even liked getting a bath with the shelter volunteers - one more way for her to get snuggles. Roxy is good with other dogs and would be great as your very first dog. And did we mention how smart she is? She knows sit, down, stay and shake! Due to her size, Roxy will do best with children at least six years old. Who can resist her smiling face and twinkling eyes?

Fondue the Staffordshire Bull TerrierFondue the Staffordshire Bull Terrier -- ADOPTED!
Fondue expresses so much with her adorable ears. When she's excited, they perk right up. When she's feeling a bit shy, down they go. This pretty, spirited and good-natured girl is as cute as her name, and while she can be on the sensitive side, just show her a little love and affection and she eagerly responds in kind. She's a young adult at three years old, and weighs in at 50 pounds. Fondue will make a wonderful companion whether you're feeling athletic (jogging and hiking) or not so athletic (walking and snuggling). She enjoys her fellow canines, but would benefit from some additional training. She could also use a boost in the confidence department and would do best in an active, dog experienced household (teens and older, please).

Gidget the Pit Bull TerrierGidget the Pit Bull Terrier -- ADOPTED!
Just like her beach blanket bingo-ing namesake, Gidget is a fun and perky gal! And she's a real beauty with her gorgeous brindle coat and soulful brown eyes. Her ears are so expressive - at times they make her look like the Flying Nun! She'll gladly sit for a treat, or snuggle with you on a cold rainy night. At two years old, she's athletic and exuberant (but not excessively so), and would do best with a dog experienced guardian who can provide her with plenty of exercise and continue with her training. Gidget would do well with children at least ten years old. She would prefer to be your only dog, as she's currently lacking in dog-to-dog social skills. Come meet this gentle and eager to please pup!

Kabu the Short Hair MixKabu the Short Hair Mix -- ADOPTED!
Meet Kabu, a big, sweet, beautiful girl whose name means "turnip" in Japanese! Mellow and sociable, Kabu likes human company best, and would like to be your only pet. She loves having her head rubbed and unleashes a funny little purr to let you know it. This 6-year-old would fit right into a moderately active family with teens and adults - even if you've never had a cat before. Kabu's gentle, affectionate, and lap-loving demeanor is sure to be a soothing addition to some lucky household... why not make it yours?

This wonderful cat qualifies for the Seniors for Seniors program.

Chewy the Pit Bull TerrierChewy the Pit Bull Terrier -- ADOPTED!
Hi, I'm Chewy! I'm a very active, energetic guy, and I love attention! At 2 years old, I still have a fair amount of training ahead of me, so I need an owner who already has some dog experience to teach me the ropes. I'm looking for an active home where I can play and have lots of fun and exercise. I'd be a great buddy for a family with kids age 6 and up.

Scruffy the Domestic Long HairScruffy the Domestic Long Hair -- ADOPTED!

I love being groomed - you will love to brush my beautiful soft coat. Don't be fooled by how lovely I am - I enjoy hunting rodents! I would prefer a dog-free home, so if you are looking for a furry pet please come to the shelter to meet me today!

Frijole the Bunny RabbitFrijole the Bunny Rabbit -- ADOPTED!
Frijole loves his hay! He is a sweet bunny, a little shy at first, but can be won over with treats and gentleness. He doesn't mind being in laps or being held - a rare quality in a rabbit. Frijole loves to play hide and seek with his hidey hole, alternately hiding and poking his nose out at you. Bunnies love to run and play so Frijole will either need extra time with you or a playmate.

Zip the Guinea PigZip the Guinea Pig -- ADOPTED!
Zip is seeking a family who can provide a roomy cage, proper diet, daily cleanup and gentle handling. He will try his best to keep clean, fastidiously grooming himself with his front teeth, tongue and back claws. Guinea Pigs enjoy having tunnels to crawl through and platforms to climb on in their cage as well as supervised play time with their people. Angel would be great for a first-time dog owner with a fairly active household, and she's partial to women and older folks. Angel also loves kids, although she would do best in a home with children 10 and older. A fan of the canine classics, from leisurely walks to fetch to couch-lounging to the occasional swim, Angel is good with other dogs and has lived with cats. And did we mention that she -- and we're quoting here -- "loves cuddling"? Come see for yourself just how heavenly Angel can be.

Colbie is the more outgoing of the two and will come up to you to beg for treats (fresh blackberries from the shelter volunteers are a current favorite!).
