About: Seattle City Of Music Front Row: Zubatto Syndicate
The Zubatto Syndicate is a 12-piece ensemble under the direction of composer and guitarist Andrew Boscardin. Featuring a unique synthesis of reed instruments and electric sounds, brass and stand up bass, Zubatto Syndicate is a highly original take on the Big Band jazz tradition. Seeking to find the musical place where Maria Schneider meets the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and the Roots meet Radiohead by way of Mingus, Zubatto combines detailed arrangements and inventive harmonic ideas with rhythmic settings and idioms atypical of the jazz orchestra, as realized by the some of the top improvising musicians in Seattle. Front Row: Men`s Chorus Holiday Concert
For thirty years, Seattle Men`s Chorus has sung traditional carols spiced with something new and zany. The parody medley "Heavy Christmas" begins the show with music by the likes of Strauss, Wagner, Grieg, Verdi, Bizet, Khachaturian and Tchaikovsky, with lyrics, and accompanied by Benaroya Hall`s Watjen Concert Organ. This concert is a full bag traditional classics plus surprises from Captain Smarty Pants and the jubilant "Bolly Jolly Holiday," which plays like Bombay Dreams of a white Christmas. Of course, the wacky will be balanced with the sublime as the Chorus` more traditional fare that creates a sound as heavenly as the season. Seductive and soulful, Hill`s music will move your body and may even stir a summer romance. Taped at Seattle City Hall Plaza. Front Row: Seattle Women's Chorus - Cris Williamson
Decades before indie labels were the norm, and years before women had any real access in the industry, Cris Williamson was busy changing the face of popular music. Her lyrics appear on a regular basis in books and thesis papers. Thousands of people who may not even know her name join their voices in "Song of the Soul" around campfires and places of worship. Finally, the stage had been set for women, and particularly for lesbians, to write, produce, record, and issue their own material -- on their own terms. Music of Remembrance
This poignant, uplifting documentary about Seattle-based chamber music organization, Music of Remembrance, is the story of a priceless musical legacy, a woman with a vision, and the community that formed around a mission of remembrance. An Evening With: Al Kooper

Dr. Sujan "Supreme Understanding" Dass is a community activist and expert on what we call "the struggle." A lifelong resident of America's ghettos, the author has been involved in the rap game, the drug game, the street hustle game, the pimping game, before advancing the many "legit" games most hustlers never learn. The author has amassed a number of academic degrees to supplement the "hands-on" learning mentioned above, ranging from a Bachelor's degree in History to a Doctorate in Education with at-risk youth. He has also traveled the globe, researching, organizing, and conducting lectures, workshops, and motivational speeches. Supreme Understanding's ability to combine intellectual awareness with insight from the "real world" of America's ghettos has made him a staunch critic of the many failed measures to reach our urban youth. After studying the weaknesses of dozens of program, policies, and philosophies, the author realized something else was needed. Art Zone In Studio with Nancy Guppy

The Seattle Women's Chorus goes back in time to the provocative days of racy pulp fiction and the history of women's music. Taking a fond and campy look at the spicy novels that captured the attention of the underground lesbian community in the '50s and '60s, Vixen Fiction includes love songs, torch songs and songs of forbidden desire. According to one writer, Ann Bannon never considered that her stories would become legends, inspiring countless fledgling dykes to flock to Greenwich Village, dog-eared copies of her books in hand, to find their own Beebos and Lauras and others who shared that unnamable love. The Local Music Show at The Cha Cha Lounge
