5/22/201528:48

Seattle teachers staged a walkout and rally this week to protest the state legislature's delay in approving a budget that fully funds public education and addresses a voter mandate to lower class sizes. Seattle teachers are not alone. Dozens of school districts statewide have staged similar day-long strikes. With the clock counting down to the end of the special session, will lawmakers in Olympia meet a state Supreme Court order to amply fund public schools? Or will lawmakers face sanctions for not fulfilling the McCleary mandate?
