The SEATTLE CHANNEL ART ZONE presents a weekly show starring Nancy Guppy and Seattle's fabulous creative scene, with fresh highlights from local arts, entertainment and cultural happenings. ART ZONE In Studio with Nancy Guppy features interviews with local artists and performers, reviews and previews of current offerings, and lots of surprises. New episodes of ART ZONE In Studio with Nancy Guppy premiere Thursdays nights at 8:00 p.m., with additional playbacks during the ART ZONE on Friday and Saturday nights.
Host Nancy Guppy grew up in Seattle and, with the exception of a three-year stint in Los Angeles, has lived in the city her entire life. Before creating arts programming for the Seattle Channel, Nancy spent 10 years as a writer/performer/producer on KING TV's late night comedy show, Almost Live!. Nancy enjoys morning coffee, daily walks, dinner with friends, hang time with husband Joe, and hitting the local art scene as much as she possibly can.
Robert Horton reviews films for The Herald (Everett) and KUOW-FM, and has written for many publications, including Film Comment magazine. He is the author of BILLY WILDER: INTERVIEWS (2001) and FRANKENSTEIN (2009), and his work has been included in BEST AMERICAN FILM WRITING 1999 and the INTERNATIONAL DICTIONARY OF FILMS AND FILMMAKERS. He is also the host/curator of the "Magic Lantern" series of monthly film talks at the Frye Art Museum. Robert's tangled Seattle roots include the Blanchet High musicals, a nonprofit stint with the Seattle Film Society, and working at the Frankfurter on the Ave while in college. He got married in January 2008; so far, so good.
